This soothing tea is a rare varietal produced in the Himalayan foothills. The Indian tea plants which are specially cultivated for white tea production have shorter terminal buds than their Chinese counterparts, making the collection of the leaf for this "Silver Needle - style" tea both challenging and costly. The resulting taste, however, is certainly worth the sacrifice -- exhibiting both the mild sweetness of a classic White with the smooth white-grape aroma and flavor inherent in all Darjeeling teas.
